Why I Created The Motherhood Menagerie
The Motherhood Menagerie didn’t begin as a plan. It grew slowly in the middle of real life, shaped by the rhythms of motherhood, faith, and the quiet work of learning to trust God in every season.
It took root in early mornings when the farmhouse was still, soft light stretching across the floors, coffee warming in my hands before the day began. It unfolded through ordinary moments: children moving through rooms, conversations around the table, the steady responsibilities of caring for a home and nurturing the people God has entrusted to me.
Motherhood became the place where I learned most deeply what it means to follow Christ in everyday life, not in grand gestures, but in small acts of faithfulness.
In those quiet moments, I often returned to the words of Jesus: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Like many women, I have walked through seasons of joy and seasons that asked me to trust God more deeply — times of celebration, and times that felt tender and sacred.
Walking through loss reshaped my understanding of faith and hope. It taught me to hold life with open hands and to recognize how present Christ is in both the beauty and the brokenness. Through those experiences, I learned that God truly is “close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18), and that His faithfulness sustains us in ways we often only recognize in hindsight.
As I continued walking through these seasons, I began to notice a growing desire to serve and encourage the women around me. I noticed my desire to share what I was learning about living with intention, finding peace in busy seasons, and trusting God through the complexity of motherhood.
Again and again, the same questions surfaced in conversations:
How do we grow in faith while raising families?
How do we find purpose alongside motherhood?
How do we live with peace when life feels full?
How do we balance our responsibilities with the callings God places on our hearts?
The Motherhood Menagerie grew out of those questions. Not as a perfect answer, but as a place for Christian encouragement, honest conversation, and practical guidance for women navigating real life. It is a space where faith and daily rhythms meet: where we talk about following Jesus in the middle of motherhood, building homes grounded in grace, and learning to recognize purpose unfolding in the ordinary.
Teaching has always been one of the ways I express care. I love helping women see clearly, to understand Scripture more deeply, to discover their gifts, and to take steady steps forward in whatever season they are in. I don’t see myself as someone who has arrived, but as a guide walking alongside you, learning, growing, and seeking Christ together.
I believe deeply that purpose is not postponed until life is quieter. It grows in the middle of motherhood, in the meals prepared, the conversations held, the prayers whispered, and the faithful steps taken each day.
Scripture reminds us:
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
Proverbs 16:3
The Motherhood Menagerie exists to encourage women to live rooted in Christ, to find peace in the midst of full lives, and to pursue meaningful living without striving, trusting that God is at work in every season. My hope is that when you spend time here, you feel steady, like sitting near a warm light at the end of the day, reminded that you are seen, loved, and held by God.
A blessing
May this be a place where you are encouraged in your faith, strengthened for the season you are in, and reminded that the Lord “will guide you always” (Isaiah 58:11).
May you walk in peace, grow in wisdom, and discover purpose unfolding right where you are
